Was Anyone Else Disappointed by Disclosure Day?
In this review, I take a look at Avengers: Age of Ultron, a film that has become one of the most divisive entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Released after the huge success of The Avengers, expectations were sky-high. While Age of Ultron was initially met with a mixed response from some fans, the years since its release have seen many viewers reassess where it sits within the MCU. I break down the film's action, character development, story, and villain, discussing why I believe Age of Ultron deserves far more credit than it often receives. I also look at how the film laid the groundwork for so many future MCU storylines and why it may be one of Marvel's most underrated movies. As part of my celebration of National 616 Day, I've been revisiting the films of MCU Phase 2 leading up to June 16th. Is This the MCU's Most Underrated Movie? | Avengers: Age of Ultron Review
In this review, I take a look at Masters of the Universe, the latest big-screen adaptation of the iconic franchise that brings He-Man, Skeletor and the world of Eternia back to cinemas. I break down the film's story, characters, humour, action and visual style, discussing why the movie often feels caught between audiences. On one hand, it presents itself as a family-friendly adventure, but on the other it frequently tries to appeal to older viewers and fans of the original series. The result is a film that struggles to find its identity. I also discuss the constant stream of jokes, whether the humour works, and why the movie never quite commits to being either a serious fantasy epic or a straightforward children's adventure. Who Was This Made For? | Masters of the Universe (2026) Review
In this review, I take a look at The Mandalorian and Grogu, the big-screen continuation of one of the most popular stories in modern Star Wars. After three seasons of adventures across the galaxy, Din Djarin and Grogu make the jump from Disney+ to cinemas. But was this story always meant to be a movie, or would it have worked better as another season of television? I break down the film's story, action, characters, and how it compares to the series that came before it. I also discuss whether the cinematic format enhances the experience or if some of the strengths that made The Mandalorian so successful are lost when condensed into a feature-length adventure. Should This Have Been Season 4? | The Mandalorian and Grogu Review
In this review, I take a look at No Time to Die, the final chapter in Daniel Craig’s time as James Bond and one of the most emotional entries the franchise has ever delivered. I break down how the film brings Craig’s era full circle, discussing the action, performances, emotional storytelling, and the pressure of delivering a satisfying conclusion to a version of Bond that completely reinvented the character for a modern audience. I also discuss the film’s emotional weight, Hans Zimmer’s score, and whether No Time To Die truly succeeds as a fitting ending for Daniel Craig’s 007 legacy.
